Starlight Arts provides opportunities for disabled adults (18+) to engage with drama, both as an audience member and within workshops. Drama based workshops allows individuals to develop creative problem solving techniques, values, team work, decision making, communication, life and social skills, wellbeing, emapthy, concentration and engagement.

Takes place Thursday from 10am – 12 noon at Ashby Community Centre, Everest Road, Ashby, Scunthorpe.

(Term time only)

Taster session free then £7.50 per session.

Runs every Monday and Thursday from 1.45pm onwards (April to September only).

New potential members can turn up and play for just £1 on a trial basis.

Membership is £25 per year.

Walking Football – The Pods @ The Pods

Walking football is a variant of football that is aimed at keeping people aged over 50 involved with football if, due to a lack of mobility or for other reason, they are not able to play the traditional game.

The sport can be played both indoors and outdoors.

Dance class for people with disabilities.

Class will run every Friday from 6pm – 7.30pm at the Kimberley Performing Arts Centre (which is situated on the South Leys Campus on Enderby Road in Scunthorpe).

Music and dance have provided to have many advantages to people with disabilities such as:
* An ability to express emotions
* A great stress relief
* An increased physical fitness and gross motor skills development
* Improved confidence and self-esteem
* Encourages creativity and imagination

Normanby Hall parkrun @ Normanby Hall

parkrun is a weekly 5K timed course for walking, jogging or running. It takes place at Normanby Hall every Saturday morning, starting at 9am.

The event is organised and managed entirely by volunteers.

It is free to take part in parkrun; you just need to make sure you register on the parkrun website, before you run, to record a time. When you have registered you will be able to print out a barcode which you will need to bring along to every run with you. A barcode timing system is used at the events to record your time. This software means that participants can have their results provided almost instantly, either on the parkrun website or by text message.

Please note everyone is welcome at parkrun events but anyone under the age of 11 needs to accompanied by a responsible adult.

We are a small, local rowing club in Brigg welcoming members of all abilities.

Rowing is an enjoyable and sociable sport, as well as being excellent for general fitness.

Please e-mail the Club via Mr Bill Timms for more information and to arrange your first visit, to ensure that the club will be running, as it does close on occasion.
