About the Workshop:
Walking in rural settings has long been inspirational for artists, poets and composers. Following in this tradition, Linda Ingham will lead three four-hour sessions, exploring how to place and the natural world may be used to inform mixed media studies and pieces of work.
Weather permitting each session includes a short walk along the River Ancholme or through part of Brigg, or a brief presentation of resources with a view to collecting and developing inspiration and matter to inform one or more drawn studies,. Students are also invited to bring their own inspirational sources – photos, sketches, objects, souvenirs.
Mixed media techniques include:
– Using gesso on paper
– ‘drawing’ with paint, as well as silverpoint, graphite, chalks, charcoal, ink and other media.
– Methods of layering
